First Prize Chicks (Spit Curl Jess - First Prize Chic by Country Chicks Man) qualifies for the Bitterroot Derby! Owned by Five Livestock Company LLC, Bred by Weetona Stanley (OK), trained by Monty Arrossa and ridden by Jesus J Canales. A four time futurity finalist in 2015, FIRST PRIZE CHICKS was runner-up in the Bitterroot Futurity and a finalist in the Laurel Brown Derby in May! Best of luck in the June 25 final! ‪

JESSA LOUISIANA ZOOM is back in winning form! A big congratulations to her connections and THANK YOU for entrusting Acadiana Equine with her care and rehab in the off season!

 

Ridden by jockey Donald Watson, multiple stakes winner Jessa Louisiana Zoom rolled to a three-quarter length victory in the third trial to clock the fastest time of :19.618 seconds, a 96 speed index into a 6 mph headwind.

 

The winner of last year's RG1 Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity and RG2 LQHBA Lassie Futurity scored her fifth career win in eight starts. The filly entered the race off a second place effort in the $50,000 Vinton Stakes, after getting bumped at the start, in 3-year-old debut.See more at: http://stallionesearch.com/default.asp…;

Congratulations to JESS AN IDEA's JESS A LITTLE STAR, for her third place finish in the Lassie Futurity!

 

Jess A Little Star finished a nose back in third for owner Juan Bazaldua and trainer Adrian Huitron. Already a two-time winner this season, and fourth in the RG2 Mardi Gars Futurity in March, Jess A Little Star has earned $61,516. Bred by J & B Rental, Inc. the Jess An Idea filly is the first foal from the stakes winning Mr Eye Opener mare Little Eye Opener. This is the family of three-time champion Kool Kue Baby. Damian Martinez had the riding assignment.

JESS AN IDEA SIRES THE THIRD FASTEST QUALIFIER TO THE $298,012 LASSIE FUTURITY(RG2)! Jess A Little Star secured her second futurity qualification and win of the season with last night's performance in trial race 1. The J & B Rental Inc bred filly out of resident LACER mare, LITTLE EYE OPENER qualified earlier this spring to the Mardi Gras Futurity where she ran 4th in the finals. She has earned $31,714 for trainer Adrian Huitron and owner Juan J. Bazaldua under the irons of Damian Martinez. Best of luck to this talented two-year-old!

S&E Prepping Sale Graduate, Corazon Dfuego posted the fastest time from 128 two-year-olds in last night's schooling races!

 

VINTON, LA—APRIL 7, 2016—A renamed daughter of Sir Runaway Dash posted the top mark Thursday night when 128 two-year-olds went to the post in 16 schooling races for fillies who remain eligible to the LQHBA Laddie Futurity or the Old South Futurity at Delta Downs.

 

Purchased by Horses Of Fire, Inc. for $10,000, under the name Special Runway Dash, the filly was renamed Corazon Dfuego. Trained by Jose Garcia, the sorrel filly clocked the fastest time of :12.125 seconds for 220 yards in Race 6 on Thursday night. Jockey N. Castaneda was aboard the filly out of the stakes winning and stakes-producing Special Effort mare Special Rockette.

 

Corazon Dfuego finished a troubled fourth in her only official start, a trial to the Mardi Gras Futurity on February 20th. Jerry Carpenter is the breeder.

Jess Cuz Im Perfect by Spit Curl Jess has the fastest two year old schooling race at Remington Park on Wednesday!

 

Owned by Hector Estrada of Tulsa, Okla. and trained by Stacy Charette-Hill, Jess Cuz Im Perfect was handled by Jorge Torres. The 2-year-old Oklahoma-bred gelding by Spit Curl Jess from the Dashing Cleat mare Perfection In Brown, cut through a 22mph headwind during his event. He finished in :13.35 seconds over the fast track, 1-1/2 lengths ahead of his nearest rival while never asked by his rider.

 

A $6,500 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate, Jess Cuz Im Perfect is a half-brother to Oklahoma-Bred Futurity winner Dashin Brown Eyes. David James is the breeder.
